Remember when Indian Earth was in? A warm brick eye shadow is also the perfect all over color for eyes cheeks, lips. Just add a little lip gloss on top for lips and you're off.
Find a blush brush that perfectly fits the size of the apple of your cheek when you smile. If you use anything bigger than that, you'll get blush where you don't want it to be. You really don't need a huge blush brush for color. Those are meant for shimmer powders.
Pick up your blush by lightly tapping the blush with the tips of the bristles. If you are sweeping the brush across the color, you'll pick up about 10 x more color than you need, and you waste a lot of product. Just tap the ends of the bristles about 2-3 times onto the color. Shake off any excess. You should barely be able to see the color on the brush. Don't worry, you do have enough on.
When applying blush, don't "sweep" or "stroke" the color across the cheeks. You'll usually end up streaking the color on, and then having to go back to 'correct' and 'blend'. Instead, smile, and tap on gently going across your cheeks. By tapping the color onto the brush, and then tapping in onto the cheeks........ you'll avoid excess color, streaking and more. Tapping on blends the color for you and you can always add more if you want.
Color too bright? Swipe your blush brush across a Kleenex to clean off any excess, and then pick up some loose powder. Sweep over and blend your blush into your skin. You'll get a softer, more 'real' look to your blush.
OOPS. Okay, you look like a clown, wrong color, too much........now what? Easy! With a clean dry sponge, pick up a light layer of loose powder and 'erase' as much off as possible. Too bright or too dark? Take a slightly dampened sponge and clean off as much as you can. The water will pick up and 'dilute' the color.........it just may be enough to fix it and look ok.
Blush Types
Blush adds warmth and color to the face and is mostly applied mainly to cheeks. Most of the women desire to look naturally beautiful glowing with a warm tinge to your face to make them look soft and blushing and blush is used for exactly that particular purpose. Blushers can be in variety of hues, tones and consistencies. They come as powder, cream, liquid or gels and each of them have specific purposes and suit different situations. Powder blush is easier to apply than liquid and cream blush. The latter should always be used before powder. Blush can easily be applied by sweeping it downward from the ear to mid-cheek. Mostly, it is applied from top of the ear and ends at the end of the apple of the cheek. Best colors for blush are the ones that are close to skin tone and sheer use of blush is often the best.
It is important to test the look of blush on your face with full makeup to see that it gives you a balanced look or not. Blush darker than natural blushing colors of the cheek often needs to be toned down, especially at daytime, which can be done by dusting some translucent powder over the blush. Evening makeup can take on a little more of the blush though depending on the desired look of the wearer. Blush can instantly brighten and freshen a dull face and helps you to underplay the tired look of the face. However, if it misused and used heavily, it can leave you looking like a makeup box! The tip to find your natural blush color is to bend down and touch your toes for two minutes and then stand back up. The color of cheeks is the right blush color for you. Another way to choose the right blush color is to match it with the lip color you are wearing. Reds and pinks are for winters while peaches, beiges and warm hues are better for summers.
For combination and oily skin, powder blush works well. Oily skin can also use liquid and gel blush on but cream blush is best for dry skin. Staining blushers are for well-moisturized skin only and need to blend into skin quickly as they dry very quickly. For a healthy suntan, put a little bronzer powder on forehead, chin and nose. An eye shadow, which is too red, pink or rosy for your taste can be used as blush and some of it can be mixed with Vaseline, lip-gloss or lip balm for a matching lip color. A dark or bight cream blush can be diluted instantly by mixing it with a little concealer on your palm. Brown blush is great for toning down the color of blush ad can also be used as contour, eye shadow or bronzer. It can also be mixed with powder for sheer blushed look.
While applying blush remember that blush is over and over again the last part of makeup that you apply on the face while doing your routine makeup. The process of putting on blush differs with the facial shape and the right application of blusher can make your face look longer or wider, as desired. Here are some tips to use while applying blush:
A little shimmer on the uppermost spot of cheekbone near eyes lends you an instant sexy look.
Put the accent on the cheekbones by using a somewhat darker shade there while blending it down the cheek for a more natural look.
Clean blush brushes are very important to avoid bacteria transfer in skin and thus, one should clean them with non-soapy cleansers and baby wipes.

Dusky pink blush warms and freshens up the face, especially on the tendons below the ears, but blush on chin may not look good, if your neck is lighter than your face.
Frosted blush may not be a good idea after all and frost on lips or eyes are more in fashion during night parties. Still, you can get that look by applying a light colored frosted eye shadow or lipstick such as gold, silver, light pink, peach, champagne and beige on the top of the cheekbones. Frosted highlighting powder is also available in the market to be used on any part of your face.
Gels and liquids are best to get rosy cheeks but since they stain the skin be sure to wash your hands after applying them.
Gels are dabbed as dot on apple of the cheek and two smaller dots on cheekbone and rubbed in small circles to blend them well all the way from cheeks to hairline.
Make the face look wider, by looking straight into the mirror and applying blusher on the cheekbone from under the center of the eye to the temple. Suck in cheeks and use the darkest shade in the hollow making a 'C' shape up to the temples but not higher than eyebrows. Use lighter shade on top of cheekbones and stop before the under eye area. You can add a little lush on tip of the nose, forehead and chin.
